Jury is announced

The jury for the TEN! megaworkshop is announced! To assess the results of the workshop groups, three case jury's and one main jury are formed.

The final program for the workshop is placed online. We would like to ask all participants to be in time, since we have a tight schedule and we want to make the most out of it! Also, do not forget your drawing materials (paper is available). See you at TEN! See here for the program.

Sensitizing tasks can still be handed in!

The deadline for handing in the sensitizing tasks has already passed. We do encourage the participants who did not hand them in yet, to do still hand them in. Because we have only one day to get you fully updated on designing for emotion, it is important to be well prepared, and therefore to do the sensitizing tasks. The tasks can still be uploaded here.

Deadline sensitizing tasks extended

Because of the problems with our email, we have decided to extend the deadline for the sensitizing tasks. Make sure you handed in your assignments at August 18th, latest! You can find the assignments and uploading tools here.

Discussion group for participants

Since we still experience problems with sending emails to the workshop participants, we have opened a discussion group at ten_designemotionsociety@googlegroups.com.

All participants and people on the substitutes-list have received an invitation to join this discussion group. Please accept this invitation so we can keep you up to date!

Don't forget to hand in the sensitizing tasks!

Some participants have not yet uploaded their sensitizing tasks. That's why we want to bring them under your attention again. The tasks and uploading tool can be found here. Remember the deadline for the tasks is August 15. After that you can still hand them in, but they can only be processed by us as workshop input if handed in at August 15 or before.

Because we are receiving a lot of emails from people who subscribed, regarding not receiving a confirmation to their subscription, a list of all participants is published and can be viewed here. The list of substitutes is also added at the bottom of the document. The list will be updated once a week.

All 225 places are taken! - starting substitutes list

July 29th, 2009
Due to great enthusiasm all 200 places plus 25 extra places are taken! We are now starting the list of substitutes; whenever a place in the workshop becomes available for some reason, the first on the list will be placed and receive a notification. On the 24th of August, the list of participants will be finalized and all people on the substitute list will be notified whether or not they can participate.

Almost 225 participants!

Almost 225 participants subscribed to the TEN! workshop. This is great, thank you all for your enthusiasm! It however does also mean that people, who still want to subscribe have to be very quick to get the last places available.

If we reach the number of 225 participants, new subscriptions will be placed on a substitutes list. May a participant annul his or her subscription, this place will become available to the first one on the substitutes list. If you subscribe, you will be notified of your position on the substitutes list and, if applicable, of any changes in this. On the 24th of August, everyone on the substitutes list will receive a final notification about whether or not they are admitted to the workshop.

Sensitizing tasks posted

To prepare for the workshop, we have formulated two sensitizing tasks for all participants, dealing with emotion sampling. They are meant to sensitize you for the workshop, to become aware of emotions and the stimuli evoking these emotions.

The tasks can be found here, and are obligatory for gaining the 1ECTS study credit, but highly recommended for all participants. The better you prepare, the more you will learn from the workshop and the more fun it will be! The results of the assignments will (anonimously) be used in the workshop. Deadline for submitting your files is August 15th.

For a little extra inspiration during the workshop, we have been able to find Ben Hughes prepared to entertain us during the workshop lunchtime. Ben Hughes is a designer and course director of MA Industrial Design, Central Saint Martins, London; one of the greatest design schools in the world. Companies and cases are announced!

As part of the TEN! workshop on design and emotion, three companies will provide cases
We are glad to be able to announce that our partner companies for this workshop will be KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Unilever and Philips. The cases they have provided will remain secret until the workshop. More information about the companies can be found here.

Date for the workshop is announced

The date for the big workshop on design and emotion has been set! The workshop will be held on Friday, August 28, 2009. Place is the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, TU Delft. The workshop will be a whole-day workshop, starting early in the morning and ending after diner. For more information click here.
